OpenAI commits to massive Ohio data center — with Nvidia's help

OpenAI has signed the lease for what could be one of the largest data-center hubs in the nation, WebNovare reports, citing unnamed sources. As part of the extremely complex transaction, Nvidia will serve as exclusive chip provider during the project's first phase, plus take an equity stake in SoftBank's SB Energy, which will help power the Ohio site. In an essay published Monday on WebNovare, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang explained the significance of the deal, declaring, "In the AI economy, compute is revenue."

Tasklet (YC P26) Is Hiring a Head of Design Engineering

This creates a defining product-design challenge: inventing how people and teams work with AI that does real work, not merely chats. We're looking for a Head of Design Engineering to own that experience holistically—making the entire product simple, intuitive, and beautiful, then personally implementing most of it in production.

A SAT Attack on Tarski's High School Algebra Problem

Tarski's high school algebra problem asks whether every true identity concerning addition, multiplication, and exponentiation of positive integers follows from a list of 11 elementary identities. Surprisingly, Wilkie showed that the following identity is valid over the positive integers and yet does not follow from Tarski's axioms: \begin{align*} &\left((1+x)^y + (1+x+x^2)^y\right)^x \cdot \left((1+x^3)^x + (1+x^2+x^4)^x\right)^y = \\ &\left((1+x)^x + (1+x+x^2)^x\right)^y \cdot \left((1+x^3)^y + (1+x^2+x^4)^y\right)^x. \end{align*} Gurevič gave an algebra on 59 elements that satisfies...

About a eight weeks ago I had virtually no interest in calculators. Blank, dull, tedious-looking objects that remind me of long, arduous rainy afternoons in 1980’s/1990’s school maths classes.

2,085 Tests, and None of Them Opens the Front Door

I read all 22 repositories in my ecosystem and counted every test I had written. Then I counted how many of them could fail a deploy. The second number is the post. Here is what my tests are genuinely good at, the tier that is missing, and where a browser cannot help.
