Generalist, a robotics startup, has reached a $3 billion valuation after securing additional funding led by 8VC, according to two people familiar with the financing.

The latest investment totals nearly $200 million, according to a regulatory filing. The funding represents an extension of the company’s $400 million Series B, which was originally led by Radical Ventures and announced in June at a $2 billion valuation.

With the additional capital, Generalist’s Series B round has grown to approximately $600 million, marking a significant increase in investor backing within just a few months.

The higher valuation reflects growing investor interest in robotics and the potential for next-generation machines to automate increasingly complex tasks across industries.

The new funding will give Generalist additional resources to expand its technology, scale operations, and accelerate the development of its robotics platform as competition intensifies across the rapidly growing sector.
